turn this note into art

optional

with the letter faced down and upright, bring the top left to the bottom right to create a diagonal crease, this is used for a guideline later if you prefer having it !

step 1

a. fold back down to how you originally received it, with your name facing up

b. if you don't remember, with the letter face up and upright, bring in the top right and bottom left corners to each other and flatten

step 2

a. make sure the open corner is pointing towards you

b. fold the front layer of the right and left edges to the vertical center line

c. fold the top corner over the new folds to create a horizontal crease

d. crease well then unfold these 3 folds

e. flip to the back and repeat steps a-d

step 3

a. lift the front layer and it will naturally bend at the horizontal crease

b. fold in the left and right edges to the vertical center line, creating a long diamond shape

c. flip to the back and repeat steps a-b

step 4

a. make sure the heart side is facing up

b. fold down the top half of the back layer of the diamond

c. fold the front layer of the bottom right and bottom left pieces outwards along the horizontal center line, press firmly to crease then unfold

step 5

a. make sure you're holding the top half of the paper with one hand, and with the other hand, pinch the very front layer of the bottom right piece

b. bring this piece upwards and it will naturally lock into place

c. do the same with the bottom left piece

step 6

a. fold the right and left edges of the top piece to the vertical center line

b. this will feel a little unnatural because the side wing will push up and create this little bump, just push it down to flatten it

step 7

a. flip to the back and fold the long edges of the kite shape to the vertical center line

b. again, just flatten where that little flap is pushing up

step 8

fold the right and left wings back towards each other and the body should follow, crease down the long edge

step 9

a. with the 'live in' side facing you, fold the long piece on the RIGHT side downwards, towards you. crease well then unfold

b. fold this piece the same downwards direction again, but away from you this time, crease well then unfold

step 10

separate the wings a bit and push up on the creased point you just made while pushing the long piece downwards, squeeze the creased points together

step 11

a. looking from the top view, fold the point of the same long piece inwards and over itself until it reaches the creased point (it takes me 4 rolls)

b. once you reach this point, bring the wings together again and squeeze this rolled fold around the original crease point

step 12

fold down the wings

all done :)

(you can also cut the wings in half to make 4 wings if you'd like, i just like it as is)
